Senko is indeed returning, and we wanted to try and make everything feel as nice as possible while we did so. There are going to be a few changes here and there that are going to be important to pay attention to. I will make sure to list off everything here as accurately as possible and if anything changed, I'll make sure to update this thread as well. First though, I'd like to welcome back everyone who has decided to come back to Senko! We missed you all, and we can't wait to catch up again!
- The first thing is that all of the extra features we had added around the site have been removed for the time being. Things like Ranches, Member Teams, and Housing have all been removed, as these turned into clutter relatively quickly. Not just that, but having so many things were more than likely overwhelming to new members, which might have deterred them from actually joining the site. Things that were popular (such as Ranches) will make a comeback in the future though, so don't worry!
- The plot is going back to the original things. We never properly did a plot from start to finish, and when we did do plots, they were always so rushed and felt really sloppy. We're hopefully going to be able to make them a bit better than they were before, and will be able to get as many people as possible to actually participate in them, rather than only a couple people participating and then it moving forward without people actually understanding what was going on.
- With the plot going back to what it originally was, this also means the return of Team Ja'aku. While their hideout hasn't been found quite yet, expect it to make a return in the near future. When it returns, look forward to being able to either join their ranks, or try to sneak in and figure out what it is they are up to exactly.
- Since we're wanting to go back to a little bit of a simpler Senko, we're limiting the Pokemon that actually show up to Generation Two. This means that only Pokemon from Johto and Kanto will actually be showing up on routes and in trainer's teams. However, we will be introducing the other Generations in the future, so don't be too disappointed about this one. This makes it so there isn't a huge number of Pokemon that our admins and mods have to worry about keeping track of when they are responding to threads. Edit: We will still be using the Black/White Pokedex on Serebii in order to keep track of when Pokemon learn their attacks even though we are only using up to Gen2 Pokemon!
- We're open even though we're still working on a number of things! We're still trying to weed through things that are going to be removed from the site for the time being, and as such there will still be things up that aren't supposed to be. Things will also be vanishing or moved over the course of the next week, along with the Gym Leader's teams being reworked. Despite this, however, we decided to go ahead and announce Senko's reopening and have also decided to let people go ahead and start doing whatever they want to while we're still working on the forum.
- This is a big one. We are going to be limiting the number of attacks that Pokemon can actually have to six (6). The reason for this is that by the time Pokemon hit level 60, they have a long list of abilities that they are able to use. This is to tone down the number of attacks that a Pokemon can use. This is also to make it a little bit more important when it comes to ability choices. We will be adding in an ability relearner in the future in case you decide you want to have an ability again that you got rid of. Also, the number of attacks that can be used per post are being limited; you are able to use one (1) offensive attack and one (1) status changing attack per post. Be creative when making sure to meet the paragraph per post requirement.
- Lastly, suggestions will be taken into more serious consideration than they were previously. We want to feel like people are a part of what happens to the site more than they were previously. Giving members a bigger voice is one of the ways that this will happen. I have been raid leading on WoW for the last couple months, and learned to listen to other's opinions and suggestions, so don't be afraid to make a suggestion that might make the forum a bit better. However, don't pester admins if they don't respond to a suggestion if they don't reply. Just because we don't reply, doesn't mean that we won't take it into consideration.
I believe that this is everything for now. Like I said, I'm happy that we're going to bring Senko back, and I'm pretty excited to be doing so. I hope to see a lot of familiar faces again in the near future, as well as hopefully getting some new members as well. Thanks for reading!

Instead of adding new updates to the post, I will just post a response to this thread in order to make sure people can stay up to date to recent changes and such. This will be the first update to something to change how things work around the site in order to hopefully make things a little bit easier on mods and admins so we don't have to worry about intervening Pokemon battles that much:
Pokemon will no longer receive level-ups from member vs member trainer battles.
What this means is that if you battle someone else, your Pokemon won't actually level up from beating the opponents Pokemon. This change is so that Mods won't have to worry about coming into a thread to be able to give the appropriate number of levels to each Pokemon that participated in the battle. Not only that, but it will make it so battles won't turn into a "I want to win, so I'll be invincible" contest; which will hopefully mean less godmoding in trainer battles against other people. Pokemon will still gain levels from battling "NPC" characters, such as gym leaders. The last reason for this change is to also prevent people from just battling and beating each other over and over until their Pokemon level a billion times. Hopefully people will also battle against each other more despite this change, and if I notice that people don't RP together much after this, I might take it back and allow Pokemon to level from member vs member battles again. But for now, no levels will be granted anymore for these types of battles.
Thanks for reading!
