A young looking, black haired boy was walking towards the Poke Lab in order to start his journey once again. He worked there time to time, though he had only been in the region for a couple of months at this point in his life. Once he had heard about the Senko region showing itself again to the world, he decided to flee from his old life in Kanto, in hopes of possibly starting over. A fresh chance to leave behind the things that he did while he was working for Team Rocket. A time when he would steal Pokemon just because of some orders he received.
He thought about the old pokemon he had then to. They weren't too friendly to him, though he really wanted the best for him. Riley let out a sigh as he continued to walk through the town, hearing the laughter of the children playing, parents calling some in for dinner. He thought of his own family, the small town he grew up in. This place reminded him of that time, and he hated himself for what he had become in Kanto.
Riley continued to lose himself in his thoughts about the past as he continued, thinking about the possibilities he had to make changes here. Though there was always the possibility of repeating what he did in Kanto here in Senko. Was there even an evil force here in Senko yet? Probably. Team Rocket possibly sent out their own investigative forces, so he'd have to be careful not to run into any of them.
Why am I thinking of all this? Riley thought, trying to figure out why exactly he was concerning himself with his past. This was a place to start fresh. A place where no one knew him or his past, since the region had suddenly appeared out of thin air to the rest of the world. He let out a soft sigh, not even paying attention that he was almost to the lab. Then it hit him; he managed to walk the entirety of the town without stumbling or falling over once. Maybe getting lost in his own thoughts was a good thing...
That is, until he tripped over a rock in the path just in front of the lab. He fell forward, and hit his head on the wooden door with a loud thud before falling over onto the ground. He held the spot on his forehead, willing the pain to subside.
I just had to think about it, didn't I.

Professor Yumi was in the outside portion of her lab, playing with a few Bulbasaur, since the other Pokémon were swimming or napping. Each Bulbasaur was slightly different in size and color. The largest one’s bulb was a tad bit darker, and the smallest one only had a spot on its forehead. The mid-sized one looked like the replica in the PokéDex entry, for exact shape, color and number of spots.
The larger two Bulbasaur heard the thump and ran from the edge of the gate towards the bushes behind the lab. Yumi chuckled and stood up from bending over, and walked to the fence, the tiny Bulbasaur at her leg.
“Hello! New to Senko and already on your face. I see a distinct future for you!” Yumi kidded. “Come on in, and I’ll help you get your first Pokémon.” And with that, Yumi and Bulbasaur walked into the lab to wait for Riley’s entrance.

Riley stood back up from the ground and sighed to himself, the pain finally subsiding enough in order to go into the lab. He opened the door and stepped inside, taking in a deep breath of the familiar air before giving a faint smile to himself. He made sure to stand still once he was inside so he wouldn't fall over and crash into anything from his moving around.
He faced Yumi, giving her a rather serious face before softening the look up some. "I would like to start my journey here in Senko. I'm hoping to make changes to make up for my past." Riley stated with a small bow. When the boy stood up straight again, he offered his kindest smile to the woman. "I would like a Cyndaquil, if that's at all possible."

Yumi chuckled at Riley’s serious stature. Most of the time, new trainers were little kids and they were always so indecisive. She loved taking the new trainers out back and watching them bond with the one Pokémon that went up to them – the Pokémon they ultimately pick. She listened to Riley and nodded.
“That’s the good thing about going somewhere new, no one here knows of your failures… Or if you’re some famous actor, no one would know. We don’t have a lot of televisions in Senko.” Yumi continued rambling as she went down the hallway to get Riley’s things.
Within seconds she reappeared, and handed them over to him. “For all I know, you could be an infamous serial killer from Kanto!” She laughed for a few moments. “Anyway, here you are, everything you need as a starting trainer: a couple of potions, and five pokéballs to ensure you complete your party! Enjoy your stay in Senko,” Yumi hugged him briefly before walking towards the front door, to walk Riley out. She opened the door, smiling at Riley.

“For all I know, you could be an infamous serial killer from Kanto!"
Riley almost cringed at the words. While he wasn't a serial killer from Kanto, he was a high ranking member of Team Rocket for being able to follow orders with few to no complications at all. Yumi didn't know that, but her saying those words just made him hate himself a little more than he was just a few seconds ago. What was he really doing in Senko? What would happen if he were to come across a new team that he could join? Would he join that team? Or would he try to keep himself distanced from them?
He shook his head to himself a little bit, trying to keep that train of thought out of his head. I'm here to change myself. I can't fall to the temptation of wanting to... Belong to something, was all he could think to himself to try and keep his sanity. He looked over to Yumi, who had opened the door for him and smiled a little. He kept his focus on not falling over while he took his leave.
"Thanks for everything."
