A young man walks along a path traveled by those before him, the end nearly in site. Like those before him, he begins anew in hopes of what, remained to be seen. Kaden A. Ladell or Kal as he preferred, owed no allegiances to any other other than his own-self. Hands drawn into his pockets, he wore his hood drawn up, head and shoulders slumped forward slightly as was his usual habit. His mind circled its self in seemingly endless cycles, questioning every aspect of what was to come.
In all his time wandering Kanto, and portions of Johoto, it had never occurred to Kal tame one of the many wild creatures that inhabited the land, until now. Instead he had always preferred to watch them, or namely draw them when it struck his fancy. Now…it would seem fate had another idea in mind for him entirely. How comfortable he was with 'owning' something he had wisely chosen to set aside in coming to Senko. He had little choice in the matter after all if expected to get anything done.
Vermilion City seemed like a vague memory, or dream he might have had once or twice. The port town paled in comparison to what he had seen in his short time here. It sent a shiver down his spine, which had little to do with the late evening air.
Uncertainty. Why must he be plagued by such worries and emotions? Such things only served to confuse him, and ultimately frustrate the youth. The very fact he was nervous was enough to bother him, let alone facing the world at large WITHOUT knowledge of the benefits and risks seemed foolish at best. Then again, he had come to the new region on a whim, running blindly into the unknown.
He had overheard the local villagers whispering. Untold chances at grandeur and adventure lie in the land of Senko. That, the teenager had no doubt about. Alone however, he could not tackle this. A partner.
What would that be like? Kal couldn't help but to muse, sucking at his lower lip-ring in quiet contemplation as he trudged up the hill. His purple eyes wandering to the various Pokémon that lazed about in the grass, the possibilities he realized were endless. Maybe.
Only so many things in life were infinite he quickly reasoned.
His eyes at last came to the massive white building at the top of the hill. Releasing his lip ring, he let go of a long sigh quickly tugging at the strap of his sack and adjusting it out of habit.
“Let’s get this show on the road shall we…” he muttered under his breath. Realizing it rude, he carefully removed his hood revealing instead his zippered ski-cap . Raising a gloved left hand, the male sharply rapped at the wooden door before allowing his arm to drop at his side once more. Crossing his arms over his chest he took a step back, and waited as patiently as one could when uncomfortable.
Outwardly he seemed calm, and showed no evidence of the inner turmoil of his racing thoughts.
