For nearly 13 billion years, the world had been spinning round and round in an endless eternal cycle. It was under the light of the half moon, could one spend watching shadows meld. The clouds crashed like waves, Kal could remember nights like this in Johto, spent drawing. Even the stars dusted the night sky like some sort of clique fairy tale novel description come to life. Once we travel a bit further, I'll have to find a place to draw before I sleep.. As he passed by the various plant life, he kept mental note of several varieties more for his own future reference.
Kal had made his journey down what would become the first of many to follow. Route 1, the entryway to the world beyond the sleepy town he had spent the last few days on. He lived his carried in a suit case, and rarely stayed in once place. I could drift away, the view alone is beautiful. Kal closed his eyes for a moment, listening to the sounds of the forest, before making actual note of the time of night it had turned to. Hm. Maybe not. A camp sight might be wiser sooner than later.. He quickly corrected himself. It was growing darker by the moment.
"Wait.." he murmured quietly reaching for the Pokeball he had attached to his cap, eyeing the familiar tiny ball. "Just don't torch the forest...gods please." Just as soon, his fellow travel companion had emerged, a nervous glance cast around as it lifted its tail, illuminating the pathway.
"Good thinking." he smirked, falling in step beside the Charmander. The two walked in relative silence, Kal took the time to consider options for what to call the little thing.

While Kal was walking down the route, there was suddenly some rustling that could be heard from above in the trees. Eventually, the rustling seemed to be getting worse, like the branch was going to fall on top of the boy. Eventually, something did fall from the trees, landing on Kal's head before falling to the ground at last. At a glance, it looked like a simple pinecone. But upon further inspection, it was easy to tell it was a Pineco! The second it stopped moving, the pokemon used Selfdestruct!

Kal yelped in dismay as the heavy object landed on his skull. He swore, grabbing for his skull as his vision exploded into a sickening mixture of black and white hazy dots. He felt dizzy, body swaying. What was that..? His eyes darted around, seeking the source of the sudden disturbance.
"What in th..----" he froze, recognizing the Pokemon instantly as it bounced on the grass. Don't...move...He blinked slowly, a sense of utter dread paralyzing him. "Oh F----!" he tried to turn, grabbing for the small Pokemon he had befriend and the lab on reflex. The explosion caught him off guard, knocking him off his feet, sending him spiraling across the lawn.
For a moment he felt like he was floating, his body lie sprawled out un-moving. Upon impact he had blacked out, the force of the impact taking both he, and charmander out alike. The flame on the tip of Kal's partner sat near under brush, dangerously close at that.

The Pineco laid there, motionless and still knocked out when a random pokeball rolled out of Kal's bag, tapped the pokemon and consumed the pokemon in it's orby goodness. The ball shook around just barely before stopping, signalling that the pokemon was captured. Meanwhile, the flame near the bush somehow didn't set the bush on fire! Something about the Senko region caused it to be rather difficult to set fire to the nature inside the region. What it was, no one would actually know, but the forest was safe -- at least for now.

Well, at least her instincts had been on the ball - it had hit dusk before she'd even started down her first pathway of the region. Oh well, looked like she'd be running this one in the dark.
Despite her far shorter than average stature, Laika made good pace across the first few legs of route one. An askew tree root toppled the girl over midway, but she simply pulled herself back to her feet and carried on - after all, unless she kicked up the pace, she'd have to start building shelter! And Lai had been known to set campsites on fire... She still hadn't given her newfound partner a breath of the evening air yet; partly because she hadn't thought of something to name the little guy yet. That, and he probably wouldn't be able to keep up with her. At least, she assumed he wouldn't be able to... Magby weren't really renowned for their sprinting ability.
Something in the distance caught the girl's eye, however. In surprise, Laika skidded to a halt only to find a toppled guy and what looked like an orange lizard... was that a Charmander? She'd never seen one in real life before! But, more than that, what the hell were they doing on the ground?
"Yo, y'alright?" The teen asked, peering over the unconscious male, one hand keeping her duffel out of the way and the other on her hip. To be honest, the guy looked like he'd taken a bit of a hit, but from what? There was nothing out here but what she assumed to be his Charmander and pokéball rolled halfway out into the path. Shrugging, the joltik morph hopped over to retrieve the offending article before replacing the sphere at the boy's side. Could he even respond? "Wakey wakey, man."

"Wakey wakey, man."
Kal was certain some one was talking to him. They may have even asked him if he was alright. Honestly? He didn't have a single clue, his head hurt. That he knew. What the hell happened... Slowly, the teen came too, his eyes fluttering open and closed, a dazed look in his wide lilac eyes. Right. He had been aerial assaulted...and now was being stared at.
"Huh..?" he managed finally staring up at the small girl. Groaning, he carefully eased himself into a sitting position, resting his head in his palm. The dizziness had passed at least, he could work with that.
It was then he realized the small female was...odd some how. He could almost FEEL it in his bones. His mind analysed her, without so much staring as taking note. If only he could THINK clearly, he might have had a descriptive word for what the little female was. In the mean time however...he had other matters at hand. "Shit.." Kal murmured with a sigh. As if it dawned on him, he scrambled over to his Charmander. "Didn't even have a chance..." he rumbled moodily, peering over his shoulder at her attempting some semblance of a 'smile'. "Thanks for waking me." Kal added, retrieving his Pokemon from the grass, cradling it.
"It will be dark soon." he added bluntly, nodding his head for her to follow as he moved to setup camp. "We'll make our way come the morning." Kal sat himself down, after wandering from the offensive location, oblivious to the 'newest' addition to his collection secured to his waist.

A grin firmly found its way to her young features as the fluttering of eyelids signalled the boy's reawakening, the teen leaning back so as to allow him room to move. Thankfully, he seemed mostly unhurt, if with something of a headache; at least, that's what it looked like with his palm across his face.
Lai watched with casual intrigue as he scrabbled to his feet, retrieving his poor Charmander from the bush it had been seemingly thrown under. Attempting to help would probably have just caused more fuss than it was worth. A brief thought wandered back to the pokéball attached to her own belt; the firey mystery within would no-doubt be anxious to break out and see the world soon. She could almost feel a soft shake rattling its hooked connection, as if something inside were just regaining consciousness.
"Thanks for waking me." The direct acknowledgement threw her off guard, Lai blinking hard but waving a dismissive hand as the words formed sense.
"It's no prob, man - what the hell took you out anyway?"
Concern laced her expression, but she followed him nonetheless. Gut instinct labelled him as no threat, really, and to be honest she was just curious as to what on earth could have knocked a guy of his size to the ground. Not that he was obtrusively large, but compared to herself... Well, that didn't even need explanation. If whatever it had been was still around, then having backup might not have been a bad idea. "Where d'ya reckon we should set up?"
Names, it seemed, had been thrown out of the window for the time being. Not that they couldn't be retrieved later, of course.
